YOUTH
Mental Health
HYPE recognizes the silent pandemic that has been sweeping the nation’s youth: mental health. With rates of depression and anxiety skyrocketing as a result of the pandemic, HYPE’s leaders sought to utilize novel research in mental health prevention to create a resource that equips the youth with skills to overcome their struggles with mental health. This materialized in the form of a mobile application, currently available on the iOS App Store and the Play Store. This application provides users with a multitude of utilities, including access to nearby mental health resources, daily reminders to boost motivation, deep breathing exercises from the most recent research, and more. Some of the images are shown what the user interface looks like. Download the app today!

Community Arbor
In order to support youth directly in educational environments, one of the HYPE’s members conducted a service project alongside his Boy Scout Troop, fundraising over $1,200 to build an arbor at Johns Creek Elementary. After months of planning and structural designs, as well as securing the necessary approvals from county administration, the arbor was built in roughly 20 hours, and it still remains at Johns Creek Elementary to this day, helping the youth in the area.

Whisper
In order to further our impact with youth, HYPE’s leaders worked with Whisper, a student-led organization aimed to transform school culture to promote authenticity through the power of conversation. By creating inclusive forums that allowed students to share their emotional baggage without fear or shame, Whisper has hosted gatherings of up to 500 students at Lambert High School. At the core of this movement are some of HYPE’s leaders who are working towards promoting community sustainability by nurturing the growth and education of students in the community.
