Clothing Drives
As a means to help alleviate the burden of poverty and provide resources that could be used for years to come, HYPE orchestrated several community clothing drives in partnership with other nonprofits and local organizations. All in all, HYPE’s clothing drives donated tens of thousands of dollars to impoverished families in the Atlanta area, as well as abroad in Cambodia and Brazil.
HYPE’s first clothing drive was in partnership with a local HOSA chapter, aimed towards sustaining the nearby community. At the culmination of the drive, HYPE had accumulated around 125 pounds of clothes.

HYPE’s second clothing drive was one of the largest events it has ever held, in partnership with several nonprofits across Georgia. HYPE partnered with several local organizations and accepted all types of clothing, distributing what was needed to Brazil and donating the rest within the Atlanta community. All in all, HYPE was able to obtain 225.8 pounds of clothes from this clothing drive, disseminated amongst needy families within Georgia.

HYPE’s final clothing drive was in partnership with the National Honor Society. This was the largest clothing drive to date, with over several thousand students donating over the duration of a month. The clothes eventually had to be housed in a temporary storage facility as HYPE was awaiting transport! We are grateful to report that this final clothing drive has amassed 1,023.4 pounds of clothes – roughly $46,000 worth of clothes – providing HYPE with the capacity to support over 3,000 families through the 2022 winter season. We are so thankful for all of the support within the community.

Care Package
In order to support the transient community in Atlanta, HYPE partnered with several homeless shelters to disseminate care packages that provided essential supplies to sustain day-to-day functions. With toiletries, socks, food, water, and other supplies, HYPE donated over 8,000 care packages, amounting to over $11,000 worth of essentials.

Supply Drive
In order to provide a sustainable flow of essentials to the transient community, HYPE decided to follow up our care packages initiative with a community-wide supply drive, soliciting essential supply donations to distribute to villages in Zimbabwe and Nigeria. HYPE accepted items including, but not limited to, toothpaste, paper towels, toilet paper, laundry detergent, etc. This drive was held within Forsyth County for about 3 weeks, and HYPE was able to provide over $700 of supplies to benefit 4 villages in Nigeria and 3 in Zimbabwe. We are thankful to all that participated and donated!

Business Support
In partnership with Leadership Initiatives, HYPE conducted projects in Bauchi State, Nigeria, aimed at supporting the growth of small businesses. Through fundraising over $400 to develop innovative solutions to help streamline their business practices, HYPE helped push economic growth in several villages, impacting hundreds of people.
